Curriculum Framework Transformation progress

30 May 2023
Timely updates looking at Curriculum Framework Transformation progress through the stories and experiences of our community members who are making it all happen.
Kia ora koutou,

It has been a busy time for CFT, and an important milestone was ticked off with the completion of Waypoint 1.

For this waypoint, faculties submitted their design summaries for Undergraduate Programmes, along with supporting documents for review at the Curriculum Design Advisory Group (CDAG) sessions last week.

As part of the Waypoint process, CDAG heard from each faculty in person, reviewed the work and discussed next steps. A group of Subject Matter Experts also assessed the design summaries and offered insight on areas that relate to their role at the University and areas of expertise. A big thank you to everyone who contributed to this process.

The next Waypoint takes place in June and covers Postgraduate Programmes. This process will now be made easier thanks to the Masters Structure recommendations presented to PDDC in early May that was then approved by the Education Committee shortly after. This paper outlined changes to recommendations 12, 13 and 14 with respect to programme size, the research component, the named masters and the MRes.
