Generative AI and assessment across the sectors: What are we doing and what can we do?
Join this Australia-based hybrid session to hear from leading experts, including Professor Danny Liu (University of Sydney), on how AI is shaping teaching and assessment, with opportunities for Q&A.
This event is hosted by the Australian Association for Research in Education (AARE) through two of its specialist groups: Professional and Higher Education, and Assessment and Measurement. These groups bring together researchers and practitioners who focus on teaching, learning, and assessment in universities and other educational settings, with a strong interest in how assessment practices are changing in response to new technologies such as AI.
The session will showcase current approaches to using AI in assessment and teaching across different sectors, followed by a Q&A discussion with participants.
Speakers include:
- Professor Danny Liu (University of Sydney) – Professor of Educational Technologies, co-chair of the university’s AI in Education working group, and lead of the Cogniti.ai initiative
- Associate Professor Chris Moore (University of Wollongong) – researcher in digital communication and media, and developer of open-access courses supporting AI literacy for staff and students
