Canvas Baseline Practices templates
Get a head start on implementing the Canvas Baseline Practices by leveraging these templates.
Ranga Auaha Ako, Learning and Teaching Design Team has collaborated with faculties to create a unified course design that introduces core standards and accessibility guidelines. The templates allow you to copy the fundamental course structure, content pages, syllabus, assessments, and navigation. You can then customise and build on this foundation for your needs.

Will importing a CBP template overwrite my existing course content?
Importing a CBP template will result in the following:
- CBP Syllabus content will replace existing content in the Syllabus page.
- Course navigation menu items will be reconfigured (replaced, reordered or hidden) based on the CBP template. Menu items can be reconfigured later in course settings.
- Pages from the CBP template (along with associated modules and files) will be imported into your course as additional content; they will not replace existing content.*
* Caveat: If you import a template, update some content and re-import the template a second time, previously updated content will be overwritten. In this case, create backup copies of the changed items (files, pages etc.) before re-importing.
