Supervision: Orientation to Doctoral Policy and Process (ORIDOC)

The School of Graduate Studies facilitates workshops for research supervisors at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland.

The policy and procedures that govern the supervision and examination of doctoral candidates at UoA do not have to be intimidating. The Dean of Graduate Studies will clarify expectations, emphasising what is significant and answering your questions.

Key topics include:

  • Doctoral overview
  • The PhD
  • Eligibility for admission
  • Application
  • International candidates
  • Candidature and enrolment
  • Examinations
  • Thesis submission
  • Supervisor accreditation and support

Upon completion, you will receive an overview, links to key policy documents and essential resources. Don’t leave it until you are asked to supervise, keep on top of supervision accreditation and register now.
