Conference: Pedagogy 2025 – Emerging Theories, Teaching & Technologies

A virtual, international conference exploring new pedagogies, technologies and research across disciplines.

Pedagogy 2025 is a virtual conference in the Focus on Pedagogy series, running 19–21 November 2025. Organised by international, interdisciplinary research organisation AMPS (Architecture, Media, Politics, Society), it brings together educators and researchers to explore how pedagogy is evolving across disciplines, technologies and institutional boundaries.

The event responds to critiques of academia as disconnected or siloed, and instead highlights how teaching and learning are becoming more outward-facing, experimental and socially engaged. With increasing focus on student-centred approaches, educational technology, and real-world relevance, the conference provides a platform for discussing how academic practices are shifting—through interdisciplinary teaching, pedagogical innovation, and collaborative partnerships with communities and industry.

The conference welcomes both big-picture critiques and grounded classroom case studies. Topics include the impact of AI, changing research agendas, and the complexities of teaching in today’s academy.

Questions of interest include:

  • How is AI affecting teaching in the arts and sciences?
  • How can humanities educators integrate ‘real world’ problems in class?
  • Can STEM disciplines adopt the ‘fluid learning’ of the cultural sector?
  • How are sustainability themes being integrated in the built environment disciplines?
  • How are educators applying engaged learning, flipped classrooms or peer-to-peer learning?
  • In what ways are academic administrators supporting engagement with industry and communities?

Organised in collaboration with Leeds Beckett University (UK), Marywood University (USA), and KU Leuven (Belgium).
