Canvas
Redesigned Files page
The Files page has been redesigned to offer a cleaner, more intuitive interface with improved file management features. This aims to simplify file organisation and improves usability, especially for those managing large numbers of files.
- Select All and individual file checkboxes added; keyboard shortcuts for multi-select removed
- Bulk actions available: Download, Delete, Move, Edit Permissions, Manage Usage Rights
- Sorting enabled on column headers
- Temporary toggle to switch between new and original interface (preference saved across sessions)
- “All My Files” opens to a landing page instead of folder tree
- Manage Permissions and Usage Rights open in separate modals
Other changes include:
- Drag-and-drop uploading remains; moving files by drag-and-drop is no longer supported
- Pagination for large file sets; folder tree view removed
- Preview links can no longer be shared outside Canvas
