Supervision: Guiding research students to develop good research practices

The School of Graduate Studies facilitates workshops for research supervisors at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland.

This session will explain the importance of practicing value-based good research practices (GRP) and will demonstrate how they can be applied in every step of the research lifecycle, and describe the resources and guides available to prepare students for their research experience.

It will also touch on what questionable research practices and research misconduct are and the value of establishing a GRP-focused research practice early so that it will form a foundation throughout the students’ careers.

The aim of this session is to assist supervisors to build their skills in developing their good research practice understanding to pass this knowledge on to their students.
